It strives to help young people and adults enter or re-enter the job market and to assist employed people in updating their skills. A confirmation of the level of attention given to the quality of the service offered, is the ISO 9001:2008 certification obtained by the centre. An area of 75.000 m2, dozens of training rooms and labs, a residential centre which can host up to 180 people, a canteen, recreational rooms and sport facilities, a team of 120 staff with numerous external consultants: these are the figures for Civiform, the “training town” located within Cividale del Friuli.

Petru Maior University of Tîrgu Mureș (UPM), part of Romania’s education system, is a state institution for higher education and vocational training created in 1961 with a tradition of 56 years which educates over 4000 students at present supported by 287 employees. Inside UPM operates the Continuous Education Centre oriented on development of activities related to the classical educational programs through complex initial and continuing vocational training, as a vocational training institute at tertiary level, which has an important mission: to contribute to the initial and continuous training of specialists in various fields demanded by the labour market.

Volkshochschule im Landkreis Cham e.V. is one of the largest adult education centres in Bavaria, Germany with more than 70 employees, 300 freelancers, 30 sites and a special focus on adult education. The permanent team includes a multi-professional team ranging from teachers, sociologists to social workers and other professions. The VHS Cham is a member of the Bavarian and German Adult Education Associations. VHS Cham provides the adult education courses which focus not only on specific knowledge and skills, but also development of the social skills and health prevention. Courses in adult education training, languages, health, social/life, culture, social integration courses and projects, courses for the subsequent acquisition of formal graduation for young adults, courses leading to the Chamber of Trade approved graduation and ICT courses for the different levels of knowledge offer a wide variety of training for the acquisition of key competences for different target groups in the society. BEST Institut für berufsbezogene Weiterbildung und Personaltraining GmbH (www.best.at) was founded in 1990 as an independent Austrian organisation for providing continuous training, vocational qualification and career services. Its main activities comprise the development of innovative training programmes for young (+16) individuals and adults, many of them disadvantaged and with migration background, on continuous and vocational training, counselling & coaching and activation for job seekers and employees. The training schemes are client-oriented and based on both the specific needs of the labour market and the participants’ individual situations, skills and competences, previous experience and life circumstances.
The institute offers training facilities for up to 13,000 students per year. The innovative training programmes for different target groups include own pedagogic and didactic approaches and materials, especially for social integration, empowerment, self-reflection and motivation, as well as ICT based methods which are constantly being updated.
As one of the first training institutes in Austria, BEST has become a certified provider of the ECDL European Computer Driving Licence, EBCL European Business Competence Licence and ECo-C European Communication Certificate, and offers respective trainings and exams. Since 2008 BEST is an official CERTNÖ Training Centre certified by Danube University Krems and approved by the Lower Austria Government. Since 2012 BEST has also the “wien-cert“, the quality certification for adult education.
Within its International Projects Department, BEST shows long experience of cooperation in more than 180 European projects, both as coordinator and partner.
